A Stay At Home Dads Thoughts

Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire

My birthday is approaching soon, one whole week. So my wife has been asking me what I want for my birthday, she knows I’ll be happy with anything she gets and just was not taking the “surprise me” answer. So after some thinking I decided on a tablet but am stuck between 2 so far, the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire. Both have 7″ screens and weigh less than a pound. They are both similar in design except the Nexus 7 sports a front facing camera. That’s why I am leaning towards one of these because of the small screen size seem more useful for me for my needs. The 8GB versions of both tablets sell for $200. I think the 8GB’s work well for me because I won’t plan on downloading as much as I plan on using it for the internet and typing. I don’t plan on watching movies or YouTube so much on it. They are both Android powered by their operating systems, the Nexus comes with OS 4.1. The 1.3 GHz CPU speed of the Nexus 7 has the Kindle’s 1GHz beat but the Nexus only offers 800 pixel resolution the Kindle has 1024 pixel resolution. But also have about an 8 hour battery. Kinda leaning towards the Nexus 7 just because it is newer and seems like the right tablet for me. So now I just have to make sure I get her a wonderful birthday gift as well for her birthday next month.
