Grill Ribs

Ah what a beautiful today is my part of America. The sun is shining, birds are chirping and the kids are yearning to get outside in the back yard and play. So with all these factors in play, today is a perfect day to grill. I love to grill everything just to see if it’s grill- able just like in the winter I like to break out the deep fryer and see what is fry-able. One of my wife’s favorite meals to eat when I grill is ribs. Took me a few tries to get this recipe down pack and perfect for fall of the bone ribs. So I will share my secret with the world. It’s not really difficult at all, grilling is one the simplest forms of cooking. Ok now down to the ribs. I suggest you use whatever type of ribs you enjoy, we use St. Louis style spare ribs, but you can also use beef if you chose. I like to use charcoal to really give all my meat that BBQ taste but I will adapt this recipe if you want to use a gas grill.

Now lets begin, you can season your ribs with a dry rub or a marinade before you do anything to allow the meat to absorb that. If you’re using charcoal just go ahead and light your coals and get to grilling your other meats and foods to knock those out the way. The point of this is to get those coals to the right amount of even temperature and that can take 20-30 minutes so no point in starving waiting on the ribs. If you’re using a gas grill you can pretty much skip this step and head directly to the ribs or grill your other food also.

Now for the ribs. To grill and smoke them just right it will take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Now if you’re using charcoals, move all your coals to one side of the grill. Then put your ribs on the side with the charcoal for about 5 minutes each side to give it a nice sear. Next put the ribs other side with no coals and close the grill. Now you essentially letting the smoke cook the ribs. If you are using a gas grill just turn off one side of your burners for the same effect. Now wait about an hour to an hour and a half and turn the meat every 30 minutes. Finally when your ribs are done you should have some real juicy and tender ribs to share with your family and friends.
